Picnicking

Cedar Hill State Park picnic site If you want to enjoy an outdoor barbeque along the shores of Joe Pool Lake, there are more than 200 picnic tables in Cedar Hill State Park. Individual picnic sites consist of a picnic table and a waist high barbeque grill. Cedar Hill State Park barbeque grillAll of the tables are set on a concrete pad and almost all are covered. Individual sites are comfortable enough for a family outing. If there are more than five or six people in your group, it is not difficult places where there are numerous picnic tables that are placed Cedar Hill State Park, picnic siterelatively close to one another. Don't assume though that you will be able to find two unoccupied picnic sites that are right next to each other at noon during a busy summer weekend. The park can be very busy during the summer season. If your planning a barbeque or just planning to pack a meal be sure you bring all the things you will need. Charcoal and lighter fluid if you want to grill, and perhaps a picnic basket that has all your eating utensils.

Group Picnics

Cedar Hill State Park, picnic pavilionIf you are want to plan a large barbeque party at Cedar Hill State park, there are two group picnic facilities available for rent. Each of these so called group picnic pavilions consists of a covered concrete pad that holds numberous picnic tables. At one edge of the pad, Cedar Hill State Park, picnic pavilion barbeque grillesbeyond the pavilion roof, there are a few large barbeque grills. Both sites offer a wonderful view of Joe Pool Lake. There are also bathrooms and a large parking area adjacent to both group picnic sites.

Group Picnic Pavilion (capacity 50): $100 per day.

Group Picnic Pavilion (capacity 100): $100 per day.
